Deep in the cirque of Tamarout at the foot of Toubkal - the highest peak in North Africa and at 1,200 m above sea level - Asni is of no particular interest except for a souk on Saturday morning where the peasants neighbors come to sell or barter their products and their crafts (mainly pottery and some tourist trinkets). Formerly, Asni was the starting point for excursions to Mount Toubkal. The village is now abandoned in favor of Imlil, which is developing. From Marrakech, you will find large taxis at Sidi Mimoun station that make the Asni-Marrakech and Marrakech-Asni journey (between 50 and 80 DH) and an Alsa bus line which makes the round trip.
